LOCATION: PIETERMARITZBURG, KWAZULU-NATAL
DURATION: CONTRACT (12 MONTHS)

"Our client specializing in EPCm & Infrastructure Projects is seeking a GENERAL RESIDENT ENGINEER – WATER with a minimum of 15 years of experience to oversee and manage water-related construction projects based in KWAZULU-NATAL."
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Responsible for the overall planning, direction, organisation, and cost control of water construction projects, ensuring they are completed to the highest safety and quality standards within specified time and cost constraints.
- Oversee and manage multiple sites with the relevant Resident Engineers (RE) / Assistant Resident Engineers (ARE) to ensure correct project execution.
- Mentor junior engineers and develop methodologies for project execution.
- Assist REs with ensuring all necessary permits and licenses are obtained before starting construction activities on sites.
- Assist REs with the development of safety plans in collaboration with the Engineer / Approved Professional Person (APP) and Site Health and Safety Officer / Consultant.
- Set up and oversee the constructability process with the Design Engineer / APP.
- Coordinate with the client, APP, project manager, contractor, and sub-contractors for project reporting procedures and formats.
- Inspect work to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and quality control plans.
QUALIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIREMENT:
- Minimum 15 years of relevant water-related engineering experience.
- BSc. Eng. (Civil) / B.Eng. Civil or B. Tech Civil.
- Registration: ECSA registration is preferred.
- Specialization: Water reticulation, water treatment, water pump stations, bulk water pipelines, and concrete structural projects
