KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Responsible for various aspects of geotechnical projects including:-
• Preparing of proposals, budgets and cost estimates
• Tender documentation and adjudication
• Planning and procurement for projects including contract documentation
• Site investigation including data collection, sampling, profiling and logging
• Appreciation of problematic soils and ground improvement techniques
• Assessment of field and laboratory data
• Geotechnical evaluation
• Design of various geotechnical elements including foundations, piling, retaining walls, rock slopes, soil slopes and underground excavations
• Tutoring and supervision of junior staff
• Numerical analyses with use of relevant software
• Characterise material properties for geotechnical modelling, analyses and design
• Provide quality control review of technical work and deliverables,
• Produce factual and interpretive engineering reports, plans and specifications,
• Liaising with relevant parties on job progress and particularly any indications that deadlines/targets might not be achieved and reporting to the client as required,
• Preparation of project proposals and tender documents, assessment of tenders, and providing assistance with writing and pricing of geotechnical and investigative services,
• Prepare, administer and supervise contracts and contractors on site.
• Management, administration and financial accounting on projects
• Growth of geotechnical business in Africa
• Motivating, tutoring and supervision of staff
• Nurture and grow technical excellence within the Geotechnical Department
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• Postgraduate studies in Geotechnical Engineering will be an advantage
• Preferable ECSA Pr Eng Registration
EXPERIENCE
• At least 10 years of experience or more
