Our esteemed client is a leading independent service provider for renewable energy power plants in South Africa and Namibia, with a growing presence across the African continent. The company specializes in the operation, maintenance, and optimization of wind, solar, battery energy storage, and hydro facilities, ensuring reliable and sustainable energy generation.

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator responsible for ensuring compliance with national laws, international standards, and company policies to safeguard workers, facilities, and communities. The role combines risk management, training, audits, and emergency preparedness, with a strong focus on renewable energy projects such as solar, wind, and battery storage. This role is available for a Botswana citizen, in the area of Francis Town, Botswana.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Control and audit on OHS Act and environmental compliance.
  • Identify areas for occupational health and safety improvement.
  • Perform health, safety and environmental reporting to the client.
  • Liaise with Site Supervisor and Contractors.
  • Complete safety files to satisfy employer’s and client’s needs.
  • Assists Site Supervisor with safety files, safe working procedures and compliance work.
  • Manages and oversee the daily operations and maintenance of a power plant from a health and safety point of view.
  • Inform and appropriately train contractors and visitors on safety, health and environmental matters.
  • Respond effectively to safety, health and environmental emergencies.

Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
  • Professional certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience on power plant sites (renewable or conventional) is preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in health and safety roles within energy, construction, or industrial sectors.
