Role objective / Success criteria / KPI

Responsible for planning, administration, management, preparation and execution of electrical works

Responsibilities

• Implementation of the Ørsted Electrical Safety Rules on site, including the safe system of work
• Advise operationally on high voltage electrical installations to WTG, offshore substations and both HV submarine and onshore cables
• Oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment
• Oversee all MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security and integrity of the HV network
• Contribute to proactive management, good coordination and communication between all parties and that the process works effectively
• Coordinate MV/HV/LV commissioning activities through the project construction stages
• Take electrical operational responsibility for an entire substation.
• Possibility to work in adverse work conditions/emergency work scenarios.
• On-call may arise during certain work taks.
• GWO training and HUET training to be completed.
• Ability to pass medical fitness test.

Tasks:

• Ensure compliancy with and managing of Ørsted Electrical Safety Rules
• Safety coordination in electrical matters
• Act as senior authorized person
• Outage management and network control in collaboration with the Control Engineers
• Update MV/HV/LV schematic diagrams
• Inspect work sites and perform site safety inspections and auditing for electrical matters
• Coordinate with the Lead Commissioning Project Manager to ensure that accurate updates are distributed to the Project Management
• Manage and coordinate HV/MV/LV commissioning activities
• Coordinate with National Grid and attend commissioning panel meetings
• Prepare and check high voltage switching schedules
• Check method statements for electrical matters
• Implement and provide training programmes for relevant staff according to the rules
• Provide technical and engineering advice to working parties for electrical matters
• Assist different departments in Ørsted when required
• Attendance at FAT and SAT tests if required
• Act as Training Mentor for Various projects within Ørsted 

  Deliverables:

• Input to the project commissioning management manual and related documents (including pre-commissioning and commissioning quality plans)
• Participation in different audits
• Reports from FAT & SAT on the different high voltage equipments
• Onsite check of switching programs
• Participation in the planning of resource and work activities
• Participation in authorizations and assessments of new candidates
• Deliver inputs to the design phase of the project on technical aspect
• Switching on HV/MV & LV equipment
• Grounding of equipment & creating isolation zone’s
• Setting up demarcation of worksites for contractors based on Work Requests
• Lead toolbox talks to start working parties.
• Pre and Post energization checks of all equipment across the windfarm.
• Participating in work rotations both offshore and onshore if assigned to that rotation.
• Project specific administrative tasks to assist Lead SAP
• Ability to work on Microsoft platforms (excel, word, outlook, etc.…)
• Ability to lift 50lbs.

  Decision authority / Responsibility

• Say in relation to MV/HV switching and isolations
• Issue of Ørsted Electrical Safety Rules safety rules documents
• Management of electrical safety to work onsite

The Consultant must bring his/her own Iphone. External consultants’ equipment such as PCs, mobile phones and iPads must always be up-to-date with the latest iOS release. The owner must allow Ørsted’s AirWatch security and management software for iPhones and iPads to be installed. The app is mandatory on all mobile devices used by Ørsted staff (including External consultants) to protect them from cybercrime. The owner must grant approval for Ørsted to remove apps, data and access from privately owned equipment if it is deemed to pose a risk in relation to Ørsted’s security or the GDPR regulations, if the equipment is lost/stolen, or if the owner ceases to have an active contract with Magnit and/or Ørsted. When an external consultant leaves Ørsted, they must contact the IT Service Desk to remove all Ørsted apps and data. The IT Service Desk can only support privately owned equipment in connection with Ørsted’s AirWatch security and management software.

• Requirements:

  Requirements 400kV Senior Authorized Person
• Appropriate electrical qualification and background related to the authorization scope. 
• Several years of operation and commissioning experience within the field of high voltage electricity, offshore experience preferable 
• Minimum 3 year of working experience within onshore substations systems
• Complete and up to date GWO and HUET with CA-EBS when required by site (climbing gear person weight limit – 120kg/264lb)
