Overview
Here is an exciting opportunity to join our client in Calgary, AB as an HVAC Design Engineer! You would be at work within a growing EPCM/construction firm with projects worldwide and joining a team of talented professionals all working towards one goal.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead HVAC Engineer with preparing HVAC design criteria and HVAC specifications based on applicable codes and standards.
- Prepare HVAC design calculations and equipment/ductwork sizing calculations.
- Review/check design drawings and 3D models produced by designers.
- Develop data sheets, requisitions, and bid evaluations to support procurement activities for HVAC equipment and materials.
- Review supplier drawings and data during detail design phase after PO award.
- Coordinate and work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
- 5-10 years of experience with engineering and design of HVAC systems.
- Canadian Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation in at least one province.
- Knowledge and experience with the specification, design, bid evaluation, and support of vendors in the fabrication of HVAC equipment and systems.
- Experience utilizing Revit software is required.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and industrial standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, API, NFPA, etc).
