We are looking for an Instrument Technician to work in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. As the Instrument Technician you will maintain all instrumentation controlling the Offshore Process and Utility systems, Fire & Gas protection / detection, Emergency Shutdown in a safe and competent manner. Safeguards the availability and operating condition so that production targets are achieved. Works within the statutory Health and Safety Procedures and the Permit-to-Work system.
Fiscal / allocation metering, with responsibilities in maintaining equipment and records to the required standard. Use of KIMS for scheduling and maintaining evidence / records.
KEY DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
 
  1. ‘Live’ our Petrofac Values and apply them in day-to-day work.
  2. Participation in the annual performance review process, completing meaningful scorecards through SMART objectives and completing reviews in line with the company driven timeframe.
  3. Maintain instrumentation controlling the offshore process and utility systems, fire & gas protection / detection, emergency shutdown in a safe and competent manner.
  4. Maintain and carry out fiscal metering duties and Planned Maintenance Routines (PMRs).
  5. Safeguard the availability and operating condition so that production targets are achieved.
  6. Ensure fire & gas detection / protection systems are maintained for maximum reliability and availability.
  7. Implement the planned maintenance schedule and maintain accurate records.
  8. Diagnose and rectify faults to ensure maximum equipment availability. 
  9. Install and commission new equipment as directed.
  10. Maintain comprehensive handover logs.
  11. Assist other trades and disciplines within limits of experience and capability 
  12. Perform in an emergency role as defined by the company's emergency response procedures.
  13. Operate as part of an integrated maintenance team and undertake maintenance in order to minimise production disruptions.
  14. Ensure stock of ready use instrument spares are maintained and highlight any new items which are required to maintain critical spares stock.
  15. Seek to improve maintenance performance by the application of appropriate tactics; RCM, skills and experience
  16. Assume and maintain the SBT focal point role to include inspections, documentation control, correct tagging, breaking/making checks and control.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and experience
  • A recognised apprenticeship or training scheme.
  • A minimum City & Guilds or equivalent.
  • CompEx (EX01 – EX04).
  • Small bore tubing SBT01 & SBT02.
  • Previous instrument authorisation (CIP).
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to Safe Working Practices.
  • Clear, fluent and expressive use of verbal and written language to convey information and ideas.
  • Ability to provide guidance and motivation to co-workers.
  • Good PC literacy and familiar with MS Office suite.
  • Team player.
