Lead Contracts Manager EPC
Location:  South Holland

Purpose of the Role
As Lead EPC Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all contractual aspects of large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. You will ensure that contracts are effectively negotiated, executed, and managed throughout the project lifecycle, with a strong focus on cost control, risk mitigation, and compliance. Your Quantity Surveying expertise will be instrumental in driving commercial efficiency and contractual integrity across multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Strategy & Execution

  • Lead the development and implementation of contract strategies for EPC projects.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of main contracts and subcontracts, including drafting, negotiation, execution, and close-out.

  • Ensure alignment of contract terms with project objectives and risk profiles.

Commercial & Quantity Surveying Oversight

  • Apply Quantity Surveying principles to monitor and control project costs, valuations, and change orders.

  • Oversee cost estimation, budgeting, and financial forecasting in collaboration with project controls.

  • Certify contractor payments and ensure alignment with contractual milestones and deliverables.

Risk & Claims Management

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Lead the resolution of claims and disputes, ensuring timely and fair outcomes.

  • Maintain comprehensive records and audit trails for all contractual transactions.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all contractual matters with clients, partners, and subcontractors.

  • Provide contractual guidance and training to project teams to ensure awareness and compliance.

  • Collaborate with legal, procurement, and finance departments to ensure integrated contract management.

Governance & Reporting

  • Ensure total auditability of all commercial and contractual dealings.

  • Deliver regular reports on contract performance, risks, and opportunities to senior management.

  • Support guarantee period management and post-contract evaluations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, Engineering, or Business Management.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in EPC contract management, preferably in offshore or energy infrastructure projects.

  • Proven track record in managing complex contracts and subcontracts in a global project environment.

  • Strong understanding of contract law, FIDIC, and other international contracting standards.

  • Experience in cost control, claims management, and dispute resolution.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen.

  • Proficiency in contract management systems and ERP tools.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.

  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
