Looking forward to your next global career move? Our client has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Lead Offshore Construction Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi. This position involves overseeing and coordinating project activities throughout all execution phases, while providing strategic guidance and support to Construction Engineers to ensure seamless project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the OCM in preparing the list of project deliverables for the offshore scope.
- Assist OCM in preparing list of construction aids (load register) required for the job.
- Review Engineering documents / drawings and analysis from construct-ability point of view.
- Assist OCM in preparing detailed work scope, schedules, interface/bridging documents for offshore subcontracted works (except diving, NDT works).
- Prepare / discuss with OCM to issue Purchase Requisition for offshore project material, e.g. field joint material, grout bags, cement, chemicals, PIG’s etc., that are not produced by engineering, and follow-up with procurement on finalizing and placing orders.
- Assist OCM in preparing requirements and technical evaluation of offshore materials and expedite the delivery, receipt at stores and approval of MRV of these materials.
- Attend weekly meetings with VPOO / OCM to discuss progress and areas of concern.
- Insure implementation of the project safety plan and the company HSEMS.
- Capture / issue lessons learnt and good practices at any stage during the execution of the project.
- Initiate the variation orders /claims related to offshore work.
- Prepare mobilization plans and attend mobilization meetings. Coordinate with, OPE, Barge.
- Prepare the required JUB specifications for the hired marine spread needed, with respect to deck space, accommodation, crane capacity in line with the CHOD
- Assist OCM in constantly updating the project offshore schedule based on progress achieved and availability of resources. Suggest proposals to recover any delays to schedule.
- Monitor offshore work progress on daily basis, attend offshore operation daily meeting during offshore execution and coordinate closely with Client / OOD / OPE / Barge Superintendent and Field Engineers at all times during offshore execution.
- Conduct joint walk through on the fabricated structure to make sure that there is no carry over at offshore.
- For Hook up scope, to interface and take the ownership with E&I, Commissioning, Project team to make sure that the JUB is working efficiently and not exceeding the estimated duration in the CHOD , any anticipated delays shall be reported to OCM, Sr OCM, OCD, AVPO-OCS and VPOO in advance to take proper corrective action.
- Assist OCM in preparing the project final documentation dossiers related to the offshore works scope.
- Assist CM in preparing a project closeout report after completion of project.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Preferably in Mechanical, Civil or Naval.
- 9 years+ of experience in offshore construction.
- Core offshore installations project management experience.
- Subsea and Offshore Structural Installation Management experience.
- Experience in Offshore installation, and marine operations.
- Experience in Subsea Structure & Jacket, Topsides, cable laying & Pipelines Installation.
- Thorough understanding of offshore operations and equipment.
