Here is an exciting opportunity to join a mega project in Kitimat, British Columbia as a local Business and Community Engagement Coordinator! In this role, you will lead the development of local community engagement initiatives and provide communications and planning support for the External Affair team. You will also provide support to all interested Indigenous and local businesses seeking information on subcontracting and procurement opportunities required by the project or its contractors.
Key Job Duties:
- Work out of JFJV’s Project Resource Centre, in Kitimat, as a representative to those looking for Project information and opportunities
- Supply concise and up to date project information to external parties.
- Promote and support positive relationships with local and Indigenous communities.
- Expand and put into effect detailed communication strategies to engage local communities.
- Work with Project subcontractors in the expansion and coordination of their community engagement initiatives.
Key Requirements:
- Expertise and grasp of the dynamics of the local and Indigenous host communities.
- A minimum of (3) years of related experience working with Indigenous and local communities on a major project or similar role
- Possessing a strong knowledge of computer fundamentals (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint)
- High degree of competence, trustworthiness, and collaboration
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and ability to be self-directed.
