TRS are looking for a Lifting and Rigging Manager for a shipyard client located in Saudi Arabia.

The role:
Lifting & Rigging Manager responsible for managing safe and efficient lifting or transfer operations in accordance with Company Policy, Quality Safety & Environmental Management System, and International Standards. “To preserve the function of our physical assets throughout their life period to the satisfaction of international standards through continued process improvement, selecting and applying the most cost-effective techniques along with proactively preventing and managing failures and their consequences” “The Result of Maintenance work is process reliability, together, the result is production reliability” “Safety + Maintenance + Operations = Production”

Duties and Responsibility :
1. Management of staff, including allocation of daily duties, competency training.
2. Support the Production & Project Managers with planning maximizing utilization & performance of
department resources.
3. Support the Human Resources Department with effective recruitment, selection & training of personnel within the shipyard.
4. Carry out supervisory responsibilities with team in accordance with companies policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include effective recruitment, selection & training of personnel; planning, assigning, and
directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counselling team members; addressing complaints and
resolving problems.
5. Develop cost effective relationships with reputable suppliers and ensures that they will provide quality
services. Continuously review these relationships to ensure they remain cost effective and of high quality.
6. Continuous review of operating procedures and processes within the department.
7. Work closely with HSE to engineer out potential hazards, to provide a safe working environment, for all
employees.
8. Assist with R&D to ensure technological advancements are properly evaluated for improved ROI wherever
practical.
9. Ensure that Cranes, lifting equipment, Rigging Hardware & associated equipment are maintained, inspected
and have valid certificates fit for purpose in accordance with Company Policy and Quality Safety Management
System.
10. Ensure that Lifting & Rigging Equipment registers are kept up to date in all departments.
11. Review and confirm that all safety & operational requirements are completed & checked prior to conducting
any lifting or transfer operation.
12. Awareness/knowledge of applicable Regulations, National and International standards such as ISO, BS EN,
ASME, LEEA, LOLER, and other recognizing bodies approved code of practice ACOP and ensure that lifting and
rigging activities performed are compliant.
13. Provide lifting expertise and guidance to Lifting Engineers, Lifting Superintendents, supervisors, and senior
planning management.
14. Accountable for ensuring that all the requirements (which include method statement, risk assessment, Lifting,
rigging study and equipment to use) are adequately defined and for ensuring that the company is capable of
meeting the operation, projects / contracts requirements.
15. Awareness of asset management principles to increase the equipment life-cycle, reliability and minimize
operational and maintenance cost.
16. Work closely with Maintenance Department planning equipment service and re-certification as required.
17. Assist on managing and coordinating maintenance, repairs and modifications of L&R Assets internally and
externally.
18. Ensure maintenance and repairs of L&R equipment is being carried out and equipment available for
troubleshooting when required.
19. Create management systems for recording and monitoring safety, operation, performance, and maintenance
status for L&R equipment.
20. Provide input on the design and construction of modifications, as well as preparation of budget for the
modification of L&R Equipment.
21. Driving performance of the team to ensure KPI's are exceeded and make sure that division is profitable, high
resources utilization, and job done right first time.

Requirements:
• Degree in Mechanical, Structural, Marine Engineering or equivalent
• Appointed person in lifting operation – LEEA Certified
• Management training / certification.
• IAM certified
• Good communicator

• Excellent supervisory skills
• Ethical
• 12+ years of progressive management experience in Heavy lifting and Heavy Transportation,
• Working experience with Shipyard, Jack-up Rigs, Offshore Platforms construction is preferred
• Knowledge of Cranes, and Heavy equipment maintenance.
• Fluent in English
