Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, engineering, and execution of fume gas treatment systems for industrial applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in air pollution control, material handling, and turnkey project management, with hands-on experience in Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP), Bag Filters, Scrubbers, and FGD systems.
Key Responsibilities
· Proposal & Detailed Engineering to Develop technical proposals and engineering solutions for fume gas treatment systems (ESP, Bag Filters, Scrubbers, FTC). Prepare general arrangement (GA) drawings, and layouts. o Conduct basic and detailed engineering for mechanical scopes, ensuring compliance with IS/ASME standards. o Optimize engineering solutions based on gas composition, abrasiveness, and flow characteristics.
· Project Management or Lead and mentor a team of engineers for project execution and delivery. o Manage inquiry generation, customer communication, and site visits for data collection and proposal development. o Oversee commissioning and post-order execution of gas cleaning plants, dust extraction systems, and pneumatic conveying systems.
· Design & Analysis of Perform structural design for equipment casings, hoppers, chimneys, and supporting structures using STAAD Pro, SolidWorks, and Ansys. o Conduct gas volume calculations, duct pressure drop analysis, and load data evaluations. o Select and evaluate internal components (filter bags, fans, pumps, conveyors, compressors) based on application requirements.
· Costing & Optimization or Prepare accurate cost estimations and competitive analysis against industry peers. o Drive cost and weight optimization initiatives across projects. o Collaborate with suppliers for equipment quotes and procurement.
· Technical Support or Provide technical support during commissioning and troubleshooting. o Standardize and automate mechanical drawings to enhance efficiency and consistency.
Required Skills & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
· 15+ years of experience in air pollution control, fume extraction, and material handling systems.
· Proven expertise in ESPs, Bag Filters, Scrubbers, Dry/Wet FTC, and pneumatic conveying systems.
· Proficient in STAAD Pro, SolidWorks, Ansys, and other engineering tools.
· Strong knowledge of IS/ASME standards and best industrial practices.
· Experience in leading engineering teams and managing turnkey projects.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.
Experience
· Experience with major clients in steel, cement and power industries
· Hands-on experience in commissioning and retrofitting fume gas treatment systems.
· Exposure to FOAK (First-of-a-Kind) projects and innovative engineering solutions
