TRS Staffing Solutions has Short-Term opportunities for Mechanical Engineer to work for a global leader in engineering consulting. This is a perfect opportunity for individuals who are looking to grow their skills and gain experience working in a global organization.
This is a 6-Months Full-Time Contract position.
Requirements:
• A degree in Engineering is required
• P.Eng preferred
• Experience in heavy industry (mining preferred) is an asset
• Home office mechanical engineering experience includes equipment specification, layout and design, equipment package management, hydraulic calculations and review of vendor design documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, co-workers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Responsibilities:
• Under general supervision, perform and check calculations and design using both computer-aided and manual techniques
• Provide assistance to the Lead Engineer, as requested, in the areas of schedules, estimates, progress reports, meetings, procurement, activities, etc
• Perform all or some of the following: organize/plan jobs, write/review specifications, prepare/maintain schedules, develop/monitor estimates and manpower forecasts, assign work, work with project/client/field, material procurement, permit, and subcontract activities
• Utilize vendor data and work with personnel from other disciplines as required for the performance of designs
• Utilize/perform squad checks of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines
• Travel, as required, to ensure the successful execution of project and/or department goals
• Perform self-check of completed work, develop self-confidence, and provide guidance to less experienced engineers
• Exhibit thorough understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations and industry practices, etc
• Other duties as assigned
