Our Partner, a fully integrated energy and chemicals enterprise, has an opening for a Petroleum Engineer. This is an exciting direct hire opportunity to work for one of the most profitable companies in the world. This position will be located in the Middle East and will require relocation.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Petroleum Engineer to work in the Oil/Gas Production Engineering Divisions and provide technical support related to all aspects of oil and gas well activities, including well completions, production surveillance/optimization, well intervention, and application of new technologies. Our Partner is in need of someone with good communication skills to be able to transform the above production engineering activities into presentations, technical papers and reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed job programs and supervise jobs in the field.
• Perform well intervention activities to obtain required well/reservoir performance data.
• Perform production optimization activities to ensure reliability and optimum well performance.
• Participate in project technical reviews and study proposals to ensure efficient/economic operations.
• Conduct well related incident investigation and submit reports, then include findings and recommendations to avoid re-occurrence.
• Champion new technologies aimed at improving well productivity and streamlining efficiency and be able to develop special techniques, procedures
• Test and evaluate new technologies to enhance production and safety of wells.
• Provide technical support to Oil and Gas Producing departments on production optimization, well intervention and well integrity related issues.
• Coach and mentor the division’s young production engineers to meet their career progression target as planned.
• Invent and submit ideas that will help the business to overcome any well related challenges and improve the organization performance.
• Deliver technical presentations for the department, Admin Area, Business line management and outside conferences to highlight production engineering successes and challenges.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or other disciplines (Mechanical Engineering).
• Must have at least a minimum of 7 years’ experience as a production engineer in an upstream oil and gas industry.
• Have experience in artificial lifting, including electric submersible pump and gas lift design, installation and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in PE software applications, including flow simulation, tubing movement, nodal analysis, Buildup and fall off analysis, PTA and production surveillance is required.
• Must have well integrity diagnoses experience including corrosion logging analysis and interpretations.
• Must have experience in coming up with production optimization ideas., as well as experience in gas compression and gas storage well related activities.
• Should have stimulation and fracturing treatment experience in shallow and deep oil and gas wells, as well as experience in oil, water and gas scale prevention and treatment.
• Should have good well interventions design and execution experience for both sour and sweet oil and gas wells.
• Must have the capability of making technical presentations, writing technical papers, evaluation and investigation reports.
