We are seeking an experienced Petroleum Sales Specialist to join a dynamic team based in Johannesburg. This role focuses on driving sales growth, managing key client relationships, and delivering tailored solutions within the petroleum sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen, industry knowledge, and the ability to develop strategic partnerships that support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of petroleum and fuel clients.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within the mining, agricultural, transport and construction industries.
- Maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and supply agreements to maximise profitability.
- Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activity, and opportunities for business expansion.
- Collaborate with internal teams (logistics, operations, finance) to ensure smooth supply and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in petroleum, fuel distribution, and bulk commodity sales.
- Established network of clients and proven relationships within mining, agriculture, transport, or related sectors.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Solid understanding of commercial supply chains and bulk fuel operations.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
