Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer with a strong background in shipbuilding and marine projects to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules for ship construction, repair, conversion, and offshore marine projects. This role requires close coordination with engineering, production, procurement, and project management teams to ensure project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software.
  • Prepare baseline schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), resource-loaded schedules, and project progress reports.
  • Monitor project progress and identify schedule deviations, risks, and potential delays.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, production, and subcontractors to ensure timely project execution.
  • Conduct critical path analysis and recommend corrective actions to recover delays.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, management dashboards, and KPI metrics.
  • Support project forecasting, manpower planning, and resource optimization.
  • Track fabrication, assembly, outfitting, commissioning, and vessel delivery milestones.
  • Assist in preparing client presentations and project status updates.
  • Ensure compliance with project controls standards and company procedures.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture, Industrial, or related discipline).
  • Minimum 5–10 years of planning experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, marine, offshore, or naval projects.
  • Strong experience in vessel construction, dry dock projects, offshore structures, or marine fabrication.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6; knowledge of MS Project is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, earned value management (EVM), and project controls.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, production plans, and construction methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in shipyards or marine construction environments is highly preferred.
