Project Director

Job Title
We are currently seeking a high caliber Project Director for a long-term basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals. Based in Otay Mesa, CA

Job Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Capital Projects, the Project Director shall be responsible for the successful delivery of the Wetlands project. As Project Director, services may include but are not limited to:
• Construction Management
o Safe delivery of the construction scope
o Achieve the baseline schedule.
o Cost control (forecasting, management)
o Quality assurance – delivery of the physical project to design specification.
o Interface with Company’s Commercial Manager for Wetlands-related permitting activity and resolution of major commercial issues.
• Lead the extended CM team
o Shared resources such as the Commercial Manager, Document Control Manager, and Finance staff
o Direct reports including Environmental/Field Engineers and support consultants.
• Change management
o Manage scope changes arising from the field (contractors) or regulatory requirements.
o Mitigate scope growth.
o Alert team to recoverable changes; support cost and schedule recovery efforts
• Contract management interfacing with the Company’s Commercial Manager
o Manage the three major work scopes (Earthwork, Planting, Care & Maintenance) and numerous support contracts.
o Adhere to agreed pricing, terms and conditions.
o Support Commercial Manager in contract administration.
• Periodic reporting
o Internal reporting
o Regulatory reporting as required by permits and regulations.
• Support interactions with the Independent Scientist, Scientific Advisory Panel, and CCC
o Serve as primary construction interface.
o Assist others in strategy development, meeting preparation, and other activities as the need arises.

The Project Director will work primarily at the Wetlands Site and will report as needed and on a regular basis to the Desal Plant in Carlsbad.
