We currently seek a high caliber Project Manager for a long-term basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals. Based in Berlin, CT.
The Project Manager leads the development of transmission asset capital projects with a strong focus on early scoping, asset‑condition identification, capital‑planning alignment, and proactively advancing projects to construction‑ready status. The role is a key contributor to the Shovel-Ready Initiative, supporting identification and prioritization of transmission asset‑condition projects and advancing their design and development to maintain a steady shelf of construction‑ready work that mitigates future financial gaps in the capital plan.
Job Requirements
- Provide overall project management with knowledge & experience in all segments (overhead, substation, and underground), including schedule and budget management.
- Lead early project scoping, feasibility reviews, and constructability assessments
- Collaborate with Engineering and Asset Strategy to identify transmission asset‑condition
needs - Advance projects through design, permitting, environmental review, and development
milestones - Develop and maintain schedules focused on construction‑readiness milestones
- Track scope, cost, schedule, and risk during the project‑development phase
- Support bid‑package development and procurement preparation
- Coordinate construction‑readiness requirements including access, outages, and material planning
- The Project Manager will be assigned to new proposed Station buildouts as part of the ESMP (Electric Sector Modernization Plan).
- This includes a new substation, DX line, TX line development, and future construction.

- 5 to 10 years of experience.
- Coordinating internal and external resources to support project scope. These resources
include the following, which are included but not limited to:- Engineering
- Outage Planning
- Siting and Permitting
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Scheduling
- Safety
- Cost Analysis
- Project Closeout
- Procurement
- Contract Administration
- Field operations/inspections
- Driving project schedule, managing scope, and controlling project cost
- Assisting with the execution and development of project siting requirements, which may
involve siting applications, petitions, development and management plans, and other
applicable siting documents - Administering/reviewing/developing the following items:
- RFIs
- Submittals
- Desktop requisitions
- Invoice review & approval
- Change orders/Change Management
- Conducting reoccurring team meetings with leads from each project function, including
action item tracking and coordination of follow up on outstanding items. The focus of these
meetings will naturally shift to construction phase execution. - Establishing and coordinating change management. This includes tracking the status and
reporting on change management with Owner, as well as participating and/or facilitating
change management negotiations and discussions with Owner’s contractors and suppliers. - Working with Owner to administer contracts on Owner’s paper for construction phase
owner supplied materials and construction services, as well as any remaining preconstruction
work scope. - Coordinating between material and equipment vendors and construction contractors
- Developing and reviewing technical bid documents
- Leading contractor pre-bid meetings alongside Eversource project team
- Preparing presentations to applicable project stakeholders
- Providing requirements and inputs for basis of contract negotiations
- Preparing and presenting project cost sheets to Owner executive management
- Reporting regularly on project progress, cost and schedule metrics, procurement issues,
safety or environmental concerns, design questions, potential project impacts. - Support the integration and use of E-Builder
- Support Storm/ERP support as required
- Proven ability to perform in management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of the T&D practices and regulations are also required.
