Project Manager - Oil Sands

TRS Staffing a leading Global Technical Recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base. Our client is currently seeking a Project Manager - Oil Sands based in Fort McMurray.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and project team responsibilities to accomplish project objectives.
• Effectively leads the project team by coordinating all internal stakeholder expectations through the life of the project. Also includes preparing the Tender Process, Budgets, Estimates, Construction Schedules, progress and monthly reports etc.
• Take part in pre-construction activities, including oversight of estimating and proposal development
• Ensure projects are executed following contracts, drawings and specifications.
• Responsible for continual cost control, management and forecasting of projects.
• Develop and lead project coordinators and junior project managers.
• Provide proactive leadership in safety by ensuring all company, client and legislated Safety policies and procedures are met or exceeded.
• Ensure all necessary project safety provisions and procedures are implemented on each project.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10+ years of civil construction and demolition experience with EPCM background is considered an asset
• Bachelors Degree in civil engineering or related Field
• P. Eng designation is required
• Proficient in the use of project management software (MS Project, Excel, etc.).
• Formal training or certification in Project Management is considered an asset.
• The position will be Calgary or Edmonton based, with travel to Fort McMurray, Alberta
