A railway design and construction consultancy (based in the UK) are looking to recruit an experienced Systems Assurance Manager to join their team in the UAE. This is a great opportunity to join a well- respected railway consultancy and work on major railway programmes.

This role is a senior position and involves being an expert in the Systems field as well as leading a team of Safety and RAM Engineers on a rail project.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Drafting, editing and revising all engineering documents associated with the System Assurance Process

  2. Creating robust processes and providing expert guidance on the System Assurance Process

  3. Applying and updating systems engineering and systems assurance management plans in accordance with the project, regulations and standards requirements

  4. Supporting and Leading the design integration in compliance with relevant technical and project requirements

  5. Leading and coordinating design reviews, design verification and validation activities

  6. Manging the technical requirements with DOORS and other tools

  7. Reviewing and assuring the correctness of modelling system architectures Reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS) analysis

  8. Facilitating of hazard workshops, risk assessments and the identification of risk controls

  9. Reviewing project delivery against systems assurance requirements

  10. Drafting, editing and revising safety assurance reports and safety cases

  11. Chairing review meetings with project teams and other internal and external stakeholders

  12. Carrying out internal and external engineering audits What do you need to apply?

 

Requirements

Ideal candidates should have:

    1. A degree qualification, preferably Engineering, Science or Mathematics related

    2. Chartered Engineering (or in the process)

    3. Have over 15 years’ experience of railway systems assurance including:

      • Safety Case Management, according to CSM-RA

      • Verification and Validation activities.

      • RAM Analysis (FMECA, RBD, FTA, FFA, etc.)

      • Checking and managing compliance and safety targets

      • Provision of respective safety and security documents for respective project phases.

    4. Detailed knowledge of International and European railway standards and regulations: mainly EN 50126, EN 50128 and EN 50129.

    5. Team management experience on at least 1 major turn-key railway project

    6. Technical knowledge of rail subsystems including track, Earth Work, Tunnelling, Traction Power, OLE, power supply ect.

    7. Ability to understand, interpret and apply technical requirements.

    8. Fluent in the English language.
