Job Title: Assistant Manager-Utility

Job Description:
  • Monitor DCS and report deviations
  • Achieving the budgeted production as per the production plan.
  • EHS And Statutory Compliance
  • Strengthening & sustenance of TPM practices
  • Self and Subordinate Development on a continual basis

Key Responsibilities:
• To continuously monitor the DCS Panel and in case of any deviations:
• Inform the Shift in charge immediately
• Take corrective actions in coordination with shift in charge
• Observing/ Continuous monitoring of boiler DCS panel - Drum Level, De-aerator Level, Drum Pressure, O2
• Operates automatically fired boilers to generate steam that supplies heat or power for buildings or industrial processes: Lights gas- or oil-fed burners, using torch
• Starts pulverize and stoker to grind and feed coal into furnace of boiler.
• Observes pressure, temperature, and draft meters on panel to verify specified operation of automatic combustion control systems, feed water regulators, stoker, pulveriser, and burners.
• Turns valves and adjusts controls to set specified fuel feed, draft openings, water level, and steam pressure of boiler
• During emergency in the plant to communicate with other departments as per the guidelines given in the onsite emergency plan, immediately to take corrective and preventive actions to keep the plant in the safe condition.
• Comply with all company Health, Safety and Environment as well as Work Permit, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinate and cooperate with maintenance departments, lab and other service dept. for smooth running of plant.
• To participate in Tabletop exercises, mock drill, EHS audits, safety committee meetings, training and other activities related to safety, environment for the organizations growth as and when informed.
• Following SOP and OCP and any other jobs relevant to the role assigned by the shift in charge or plant in charge.
• Compliance to all statutory standards as per the requirement
• Involvement in TQM practices (e.g., Problem solving, 5S, Benchmarking etc.) In the dept. with help of SIC, Plant head.
• Active participation in 5 S related activities
Qualifications and experience:
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering & Mandatory Boiler Competency 1st Class Certified Operator with government license
• Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience of relevant work experience of working in Boilers with large capacity

Technical/ Functional Expertise:
• Basic Knowledge of Chemistry and Unit Operations
• Knowledge of working on DCS / Unit operations / field operations
• Thorough knowledge of operation of Ammonia plant or similar continuous chemical process plant
• Knowledge of environment, safety and occupational health hazards related to plant operations.
