For our client we are looking to recruit a Regional EHS Manager (staff).

The company has been helping their customers to become more productive, energy efficient and sustainable for decades. With their operations in numerous countries, they serve customers across a wide range of industries from food and beverage to medical, energy and transportation. They supply a unique portfolio of gases, equipment and services.

As a Regional EHS Manager you will support and facilitate the implementation of the company's EH&S Management System and national legislation across all countries and functions of the EMEA business by providing timely, accurate, and pertinent EHS support. This will be achieved by leading a team of dedicated country EHS managers based in EMEA together with supporting safety-focused operations personnel based at multiple locations. You will also hold a Senior leadership role within the EMEA business.

Success in this position is dependent on very strong interpersonal and influencing skills, sound judgment, operational and technical credibility, initiative, implementing change, together with a good understanding of the products, processes, markets, and businesses served.

The job:
- Build trust and confidence and collaboration with the EHS Team & Business representation. Build and execute leadership.
- Lead by example. Role model safety behavior and actively reinforce the creation of a safe behavioural culture.
- Run the EMEA EHS Team. Mentor, set priorities, challenge, and encourage team members to achieve results and personal development goals.
- Together with the EMEA EHS Team, provide EH&S specialist advice and site support including Training, Coaching, Site Assessments, Accident and Incident Investigation, review of, and assistance in applying Safe Systems of Work.
- Supervise and interpret new and emerging EH&S legislation and industry codes of practice that impact existing activities.
- Advise & collaborate proactively with the EMEA Business, Line, and Site Managers to ensure that EHS risks are managed, and performance gaps are closed.
- Seen as an EHS Ambassador for managers on further implementation of the elements of the Behavioural Safety programs so that teams and plants can make the next steps in their Safety Journey, enabling them to meet or exceed annual EHS goals.
- Instruct and train people in the company EHS Policies, procedures, and systems.
- Provide support to major projects, complex shutdown activities, or major modifications.
- Provide expertise and support on one or two specialist subject such as Pressure Systems, Mechanical Integrity, Confined Space Entry, Working at Height, Cranes and Lifting, which is allocated within the European EH&S team.

Requested
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering (must).
- Chartered Member of IOSH / Certified Safety Professional (CSP) / Senior Safety Specialist (HVK)
- Certification and experience as a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor are desirable
- A passion for Safety cultural support in an organisation
- Knowledge of EH&S management systems and of the processes, technologies, and equipment in use on industrial sites and their potential hazards is essential.
- A background at an operator/owner (petrochemical industry).
- Knowledge & experience of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
- Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills including proficient written and spoken English / French, other languages (German, Dutch) desirable.
- Proven leadership, integrity, and social skills.
- Possess a strong dedication to employee involvement, team building, diversity, and inclusion.
