We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Rig Mechanic to support the Scarabeo 9 Drilling Semi‑Sub Project located Offshore Libya, where the successful candidate will be responsible for performing daily maintenance and inspections of mechanical equipment while ensuring strict adherence to operational safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be safety minded during all work and behaviors, use compulsory protective equipment and ensure the same for subordinates.
  • Ensure that before any maintenance activity is started, a proper risk evaluation is carried out, precautions are taken and the work permit is signed.
  • Attend safety drills and meetings held on the rig.
  • Apply all relevant work and safety procedures issued by Saipem and the Operator.
  • Promptly report any safety hazard, accident, near-miss accident and non-conformance through proper channels.
  • Monitor and prevent oil spills from hydraulic operated equipment, power related equipment as well as drilling mechanical related equipment and repair the equipment immediately in accordance with superior instructions.
  • Carry good housekeeping in own working area.
  • Maintain working areas, tools, equipment and safety harnesses in a safe, clean, tidy and orderly manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance controls of the mechanical equipment and devices as per AMOS Work orders and provide for preventive, routine and non-routine, maintenance and repair of internal combustion engines, pumps, compressors and drilling related equipment of the rig in accordance with superior instructions.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
  • Accredited Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in mechanical, diesel, marine, or related engineering fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Offshore Rig Mechanic in the oil & gas industry.
  • Knowledge mechanical equipment in drilling.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair heavy machinery under offshore conditions.
  • BOSIET / HUET and H2S certification.
  • English language skills required.
