Our client, a globally leading EPC, seeks an experienced Risk Specialist to oversee and perform specialised health and safety and risk management activities on-site on a large pharma project in the Copenhagen area.
About the Role
We’re looking for a seasoned Risk Specialist with extensive hands‑on experience in implementing and carrying out systems to prevent catastrophic risks within large-scale pharmaceutical projects, including fires, explosions and toxic releases, by managing hazards associated with chemical manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities

Process Safety Management (PSM): Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Process Safety Management systems to ensure safe design, construction, and operation within a pharmaceutical environment.

Risk Assessment & RAMS Review: Review and assess Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure activities are planned and executed safely, in line with site standards and regulatory expectations.

Hazard Identification & Mitigation: Facilitate and contribute to risk identification activities (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA), ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are defined and tracked.

Regulatory & GMP Compliance: Ensure safety and risk management practices align with GMP requirements, as well as applicable HSE legislation and industry best practices.

Cross‑Functional Coordination: Work closely with Engineering, Construction, CQV, and EHS teams to integrate risk management processes across all project phases.

Incident Prevention & Continuous Improvement: Support the investigation of safety observations and incidents, identifying root causes and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the project.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate safety and risk documentation, providing clear reporting, tracking of actions, and visibility of key risks to project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and four (4) years of work-related experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, co-workers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
