Role: Senior Electrical Estimator (Permanent)
Location: Derry & Armagh, Northern Ireland
Our client is a market‑leading specialist electrical contractor, delivering medium‑voltage (MV) and low‑voltage (LV) cable installation and termination services, alongside busbar and containment solutions across a broad range of construction projects. With headquarters in Ireland, the business delivers mission‑critical work for a diverse client base throughout Europe and further afield. Experience spans multiple sectors including data centres, pharmaceuticals, renewables, power generation, critical infrastructure, and related industries.
Job Description
The Senior Electrical Estimator is a hands-on role with a responsibility to produce Electrical tenders for both pre-designed and design & construct projects along with estimating works working in a professional team. This is a fulltime position based out of our clients’ offices in either Co. Derry or Co. Armagh
Responsibilities
- Management of estimating new projects from inception to submission
- Setting up estimates, tender packs and applicable trackers.
- Communicating with internal stakeholders and external Suppliers & Clients
- Preparing take-offs for LV/MV Cabling and Containment systems from drawings.
- Inputting take offs and quotes to relevant estimate formats.
- Produce bills of quantities, schedules of work and contractors' proposal documents to support bids.
- Assist in the handing over to the operational delivery team.
- Develop strong inter-departmental relationships working closely with Contracts Managers, QS’s and Design/Engineering department.
- Strong commercial experience in an Estimator role
- Self-motivated to ensure that project deadlines are achieved.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work on own initiative & as part of a team to manage workload efficiently.
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
- High attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non- technical clients.
