Safety Coordinator

We have an exciting opportunity to join a construction services provider within Prince George, BC! You would be at work within a growing company with offices in Western Canada and joining a fantastic team of talented professionals in the civil and commercial construction industry. This is a full-time permanent position in a stable and growing organization.

As a Safety Coordinator, you will provide guidance to the projects with onsite direction of the company’s Health & Safety program to safeguard compliance and to achieve corporate goals of zero incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and effectively administer the health & safety program; Issues, topics, requirements and process to the projects.
Record keep and review sub contractor safety programs, hazardous products, protective equipment and tracking incidents & near misses.
Work with the H&S manager implementing HSE programs to all stakeholders; safety meetings, toolboxes, “flash reports” and development of works safe practices and job hazard assessments.
Ability to conduct inspections, safety audits and monitor works safety practices; safety programs, fire control, protective equipment, inspection reports and corrective action when deficiencies are identified.
Additional tasks as required

Qualifications:

Degree or diploma in a construction-related field with a focus in Health & Safety is an asset
1-3 experience in a safety Coordinator role
NCSO or CSO Certification is desired
Strong communication skills and a sense of urgency
