Job Summary
The Sales Engineer is responsible for achieving sales targets within the assigned region by driving business development initiatives, managing key customer relationships, and delivering application-based solutions. The role involves identifying new opportunities, expanding the customer base, and aligning customer needs with client’s product portfolio through strong technical and consultative selling skills.
Principal Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a structured sales plan to achieve targets for all products within the assigned region.
- Engage with end users, OEMs, and consultants to influence product specifications and increase market share across key segments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with end users and OEMs to convert identified opportunities into confirmed orders.
- Ensure products are specified as approved brands in customer URS (User Requirement Specifications) and AML (Approved Make Lists).
- Develop and manage a robust opportunity funnel for projects within the assigned region.
- Proactively track project reports, press releases, and market intelligence to identify new opportunities and ensure Crane’s inclusion in project specifications.
- Define and implement winning strategies using the GPM process and drive agreed action plans to closure.
- Collaborate with cross‑regional teams by sharing leads, market insights, and business inputs to achieve overall organizational targets.
- Apply strong business and industry knowledge to convert enquiries into executable orders.
- Provide timely and effective responses to customer queries, ensuring appropriate technical and commercial solutions are delivered.
Accountabilities
- Achieve regional sales targets through disciplined planning and execution.
- Expand market share by developing targeted industry verticals within the region.
- Monitor competitor activities, gather market intelligence, and analyze market share trends.
- Actively contribute to the preparation of competitive techno‑commercial proposals.
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Inside Sales, Engineering, Operations, Business teams, and customers to ensure smooth order execution.
- Support customer service teams during contract reviews and quotation strategy development.
- Build and sustain long‑term customer relationships by understanding key account needs and acting as a trusted partner.
- Identify emerging market trends and stay updated on new products and competitive offerings.
- Conduct product training sessions and webinars for customers and internal teams as required.
