Section Head Cost Estimating

For our client, active in the international offshore industry, we are looking to recruit a Section Head Cost Estimating (secondment to staff).

The job:
In the position of Section Head, you lead the section and assign staff to tender teams to deliver reliable cost estimates. You will manage your team, and provide opportunities to improve their development needs. You ensure and execute the yearly Future Focus process.

You warrant that knowledge and procedures of the section are up-to-date and fit for purpose. You stimulate continuous improvements and initiate innovations and solutions for the section where possible.

As Section Head you will provide / develop required estimating methods and tooling, maintain an up-to-date estimate Knowledge Base and relevant Benchmark data for validation purposes. You review and contribute in the preparation of the Estimating Plan, Cost Estimate and Basis of Estimate (all stages of a project development).


Requested:
A hands on professional who thinks and acts across boundaries of responsibilities. You can provide a cooperative working environment within the section, within integrated tender teams and at interfaces with other departments. You are a strong team player, pragmatic, have problem solving capacities and you are a good communicator who is able to motivate, coach and develop the estimating team.

- Bachelor degree in an Engineering discipline, or other equivalent education
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in cost estimating, preferably in the oil&gas/offshore industry
- Relevant experience in managing a section or department
- English good, verbally as well as in writing
- Computer literacy for document processing, spreadsheets and database management.
- Knowledge of cost estimating software.
- Currently living and working in The Netherlands (EU passport)
