The job:
In the position of Section Head, you lead the section and assign staff to activities, teams and projects to deliver the required services. You will manage your team, and provide opportunities to improve their development needs. You ensure and execute the yearly Future Focus process. You warrant that knowledge and procedures of the section are up-to-date and fit for purpose. You stimulate continuous improvements and initiate innovations and solutions for the section where possible.
In addition to the above, you will actively interface between departments, sections and projects applying effective communication - and conflict resolution. Pro-actively maintain external relations with clients (existing and potential), partners and other interested parties. You provide active support to your team on managing purchase orders related conflicts and default situations with suppliers, in close cooperation with the project team. You review and contribute in the preparation of the Project Execution Plan and you supervise and contribute to the preparation of procurement closeout reports for projects.
Requested:
A client and service orientated, hands-on, pragmatic and commercial (line) manager with a high level of problem solving capacity. A team motivator who can combine operational challenges with commercial sense to achieve both client and Bluewater satisfaction. Is thereby able to identify further business opportunities.
You are able to create, maintain and make use of a network of Suppliers. You have experience on working with highly demanding clients and are a strong negotiator. You can work autonomously, in line with strategy, policy and objectives. Aligns with DH and/or stakeholders if needed.
Related competences are social and cultural awareness, leadership of groups and (interpersonal) sensitivity. You are aware that your clients are worldwide operators of Bluewater products and originate from majors to small independent entities.
You take ownership and are reliable in delivering results, you think and act across boundaries of responsibilities and you influence cooperation and ambiance in a positive way. Thereby you are a strong team player and a good communicator!
• Bachelor degree or equivalent in Engineering, law or Business Administration
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in oil&gas/offshore industry
• Knowledge of offshore oil&gas range of products and services is a pre
• Strong communication and management skills
• Commercial and social awareness
• Willingness to travel
• English good, verbally as well as in writing
• Currently living and working in The Netherlands (EU passport)
