Responsibilities:
- Budget Development: Work closely with project managers to create detailed, cost-effective budgets for construction projects.
- Accounting Duties: Handle various accounting tasks throughout the project lifecycle, including preparing invoices, estimating cash flow, and approving purchase orders.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze all financial transactions, incorporating unforeseen costs into the budget.
- Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive records of project finances for internal audits and tax purposes.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare cost analyses by interpreting project-related financial data.
- Risk Management: Report any financial risks and budget discrepancies to management for review.
- Market Trends: Stay informed about market trends and construction-related price fluctuations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Certification: A certification in construction accounting is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in private or public accounting.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of construction cost accounting and related financial procedures.
- Software Skills: Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle and NetSuite.
- Industry Awareness: Working knowledge of the construction industry.
- Skills: Solid analytical abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication.
