TRS Staffing Solutions is currently seeking a high-caliber Senior Civil Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity with our client's team of experienced professionals in San Diego, California.

Position Summary
Our client is seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated, and technically driven Senior Civil Engineer with 8–12 years of land development experience to join its San Diego team.
The successful candidate will apply engineering expertise to a variety of challenging site development projects, leading efforts from project entitlements and preliminary design through construction documents and construction administration. This individual will work closely with multidisciplinary teams while managing project schedules, budgets, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple concurrent civil engineering and land development projects
- Lead project design efforts from concept through construction
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Support and maintain strong client relationships
- Perform and oversee hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
- Prepare technical studies, mapping exhibits, and civil construction documents
- Perform grading and earthwork calculations
- Support project entitlements and permitting activities
- Participate in construction administration efforts
- Mentor and develop junior engineering staff
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- California PE registration preferred
- 8–12 years of professional land development experience
- Experience working on projects within one or more of the following markets:
- Life Sciences
- Commercial
- Office
- Higher Education
- Mixed-Use
- Residential
- Healthcare
- Municipal
- Federal
Technical Requirements
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience leading civil design teams and coordinating project execution
- Strong project budget and schedule management skills
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong mentoring and team leadership abilities
- Experience managing client relationships and project communications
- Technical expertise in:
- Hydrologic and hydraulic calculations
- Technical studies and mapping documents
- Civil construction document preparation and processing
- Grading and earthwork calculations
- Stormwater design and permitting experience; San Diego County experience preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Specification preparation experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain long-term client relationships
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Existing San Diego market experience and industry relationships are a plus
