We are looking for a Senior Construction Manager to support the delivery of major High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) projects within a large transmission infrastructure programme. Reporting to the Lead Construction Manager and working closely with the Project Manager, you will be part of the project delivery team responsible for civils works packages across onshore AC substations and HVDC converter stations. This role involves working within a multi‑discipline project environment and collaborating with framework supply chain partners under the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) framework.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Act as the key site‑based point of contact, interfacing with contractors and stakeholders throughout construction activities.

Ensure all site operations comply with statutory, legal, and company health & safety requirements, including Construction (Design & Management) Regulations.

Work closely with appointed contractors and the operations team to ensure works are delivered safely, responsibly, and in line with the project programme.

Monitor compliance with planning consents and health & safety legislation, providing routine reporting and oversight of site performance against KPIs.

Build strong working relationships with contractors, suppliers, and the local community, acting as a site leader and promoting a positive safety culture.
Desired Background

Demonstrable experience in on‑site management or supervision within the civils or construction sector.

Preferably experienced in electricity transmission infrastructure, including AC substations or HVDC converter stations.

Strong understanding of Health & Safety and CDM 2015 regulations, ideally within a high‑voltage construction environment.

Proven ability to coordinate multiple contractors and subcontractors to meet programme and budget requirements.

Experience in quality monitoring, including inspection and test plans (ITPs).

Excellent communication skills with the ability to challenge, resolve conflicts, and plan site activities effectively.

Full, current driving licence due to site travel requirements.
