• Direct hire position
• In Office-4/9 Monday- Thursday in office/ Friday half days and can work remotely
SUMMARY: The Cost Scheduler assists the Project Controls Manager in various areas of cost tracking, forecasting, reporting, budget preparation, development, and maintenance of project schedules. Performs estimating assignments for change management which require the selection and application of resource monitoring and control principals, techniques, and technical knowledge of a construction project. Verifies quantities installed for invoice validation.
DESIRED RESULTS: Timely, professional, and accurate assistance/recommendations provided to Project Controls Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists the Project Controls Manager in tracking project level expenditures,
commitments and forecasts against budgets.
• Interfaces with other construction departments to provide cost/budget data for items
such as subcontract change requests, bid comparisons, new work item estimates, and
expenditure control.
• Responsible for assisting with the analyses and reporting of cost over and under-runs
on capital projects.
• Assist with monitoring subcontract / purchase order activity.
• Conducts review of equipment, material, and contractor invoices.
• Manages/updates the project cash flows and contingency curves.
• Contributes to the preparation of monthly project cost reporting package.
• Work with Project Controls Managers/Project Managers/Construction
Managers/clients/subcontractors to prepare work breakdown structures, all levels of
EPC schedules, labor plans, resource requirements and progress reporting.
• Provide analysis, recommendations (including corrective action and project execution
alternatives) and effective forecasting related to plans, schedules, resource
requirements, person-hour expenditures and physical progress.
• Combine Contractor schedules in with the master project schedule.
• Attend and participate in project meetings.
• Represent the company in a professional manner when attending discussions with
clients and subcontractors.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Requires self-motivation, excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
Position also requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and aid with various areas of Project Controls.
Requires working knowledge of and ability to select/apply resource monitoring and control techniques i.e., cost accounting, budget analysis, etc. as well as an understanding of the nature of process systems, structures, and construction technology.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 15 years’ experience with engineering and construction contractor or related field. Professional affiliation and college degree preferred OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LANGUAGE:
English fluency required.
