Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented S3D Structural Designer with hands-on experience in the Oil & Gas industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and 3D modelling of civil and structural elements using Smart plant 3D (S3D), ensuring compliance with international codes and project-specific standards.
- Design and model civil & structural components in S3D, including:
- Grids, columns, beams, pipe racks, platforms, braces, slabs, staircases, ladders, handrails, foundations, trenches, pavements, and supports.
- Model steel connections (moment and shear), anchor bolts, base plates, and cutbacks.
- Interpret and incorporate results from STAAD analysis models for critical structural elements.
- Ensure timely model development for internal and client reviews, adhering to general and project-specific standards.
- Address and close model review comments using CRS sheets with guidance from senior engineers as needed.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (e.g., Layout, Piping, Electrical) to integrate design inputs effectively.
- Review and utilize vendor drawings in line with project and construction requirements.
- Prepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs) using S3D or manual methods.
- Extract and calculate Center of Gravity (C.O.G) from S3D models.
- Develop Skid GA and fabrication drawings from S3D or manually, as per standards.
- Conduct quality checks on all drawings using civil & structural checklists.
- Prepare and maintain delivery schedules for design and modeling activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines and milestones.
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Proficient in Smart 3D (S3D); knowledge of other tools like AutoCAD, Navisworks, Tekla, CADworx is a plus.
- Strong understanding of international design codes: AISC 360, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AWS.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in structural design within the Oil & Gas or related industries.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Experience in brownfield and greenfield projects.
- Familiarity with 3D model review tools and clash detection.
- Exposure to fabrication and construction support.
