We currently seek a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure projects within our client’s civil and architectural engineering firm that offers sustainable alternatives to traditional construction methods, by using an ecologically conscious approach to civil and architectural design. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing and implementing EV charging systems, with a deep understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and industry best practices. The ability to manage projects, lead a team, and provide technical expertise is essential. Experience in site lighting or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) work is a plus. Based in Phoenix, AZ.
Job Requirements:
- Project Management: Lead and manage EV charging infrastructure projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Technical Design: Provide expert technical guidance on the design and engineering of EV charging systems, including site selection, electrical distribution, equipment specification, and integration with existing infrastructure.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, utility companies, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Code Compliance: Ensure that all designs and installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local electrical codes, and other relevant safety standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in EV charging technology and industry trends and incorporate them into project designs and implementation strategies.
- Business Development: Support business development efforts by identifying new project opportunities, preparing proposals, and building relationships with potential clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on EV charging infrastructure.
- Proven track record in project management and team leadership.
- Experience in site lighting or MEP work is highly desirable.
- Expertise in electrical codes and standards, including the NEC.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Strong understanding of power systems, electrical distribution, and grounding.
- Familiarity with EV charging equipment and protocols (e.g., SAE J1772, CHAdeMO).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
