Our client in the Amsterdam area is a leading engineering consultant specialized in managing large and complex petrochemical and life sciences projects predominantly in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

We are currently looking for a professional and experienced SENIOR ESTIMATOR who has advanced knowledge gained from experience, and expertise in development of cost estimates for projects in Life Sciences & Advanced Manufacturing markets (Europe).

Job Description:

  • Provide services, procedures and methods for the timely and accurate responses to client, project management, departmental, and company requirements;
  • Develop the estimate plan and coordinate estimate development with the project team;
  • Lead the development of the total project estimate; detailed and/or conceptual
  • Prepare the total Project Basis of Estimate;
  • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems;
  • Prepare the Estimate Risk Analysis and make cost contingency recommendations;
  • Arrange and conduct department, discipline, and project estimate reviews;
  • Presentation of the estimate to company and client management (convincing how to sell an estimate);
  • Assist in estimate completion activities and estimate turnover to the project team;
  • Conduct estimating training programs, and coaching skills;  
  • The ability to sift through relevant completion/historical data to assemble the required actual history/calibration factors for future efforts.


Basic Job Requirements:

  • Accredited 4 year degree or global equivalent in applicable field;
  • At least 15-20 years of work-related experience within Life Sciences & Advanced Manufacturing;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences;
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job;
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge;
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner;
  • Stay abreast of current estimating or industry techniques/solutions;
  • Should be mobile and willing to take temporary and/or long term assignments for career enhancement opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five 5 years of field experience, preferably in Life Science & Advanced Manufacturing;
  • Demonstrate strong technical ability, combined with communicative skills;
  • Should be knowledgeable about both Lump Sum and Cost Reimbursable estimating;
  • Should be knowledgeable about both Self-Perform and Construction Management Execution;
  • Good analytical and computer skills.
