Senior Process Engineer

For our client we are looking to recruit a Senior Process Engineer (staff) to join their team in the The Hague area.

The company is investing in the production of clean hydrogen fuel for the mobility sector to decarbonize heavy-duty vehicles. They are also the global leader in creating technology solutions for capturing CO₂ from fossil fuel conversion before it reaches the atmosphere. Furthermore, the gases they produce and distribute are helping reduce food waste, are supplied to hospitals and are used in many other markets.

The job:
You will work as part of the EMEA Process Engineering team, responsible for the regional execution and design of Process Gas Plants and Air Separation Plants. The Process Gas Plants and related equipment are designed to produce Ammonia, Hydrogen, Carbon Monoxide, Urea, Helium and syngas blends.

As a Senior Process Engineer your primary focus will be the process engineering execution of a range of projects as part of a team supporting the Lead Engineer.
• Be involved in simulation work, PFD development, equipment sizing and providing specifications.
• Design major equipment including distillation columns, heat exchangers, front end adsorption systems and backup systems.
• Design schedule items (including control valves, relief valves, flowmeters).
• Be responsible for delivering your work on time and to budget.
• Be responsible for checking process deliverables produced by less experienced engineers.
• Carry out development of P&ID’s and manage them through the life of the project.
• Prepare operating manuals.
• Train and support more junior members of the team.
• Provide Process support during commissioning and for plant performance tests.
• Attend Process in P&ID reviews, hazops and customer meetings.

Requested:
• Completed BSc/MSc Chemical Engineering degree (or equivalent field) with experience in a similar job role.
• 5-8 years relevant industry experience (in a similar role).
• Basic and Detailed design experience, P&ID development experience and a track record of successful project execution.
• An ability to coach and supervise junior engineers of the team and develop their skills.
• A background in Cryogenics, Hydrogen or Ammonia technologies would be an advantage.
• A dedicated and driven approach, committed to getting it right with a never-ending desire to learn, improve and contribute.
• A good command of the English language (spoken and written).
• You are an EU passport holder (already living & working in The Netherlands is seen as an advantage).
