About The Role
A leading joint venture delivering high-profile infrastructure projects seeks a dynamic Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their permanent staff in Brackley, UK. Specializing in highways, you'll play a key role in managing costs, contracts, and contributing to the success of this major high-speed rail project. This role offers a unique blend of pre- and post-contract work, providing a glamorous glimpse into the world of high-speed rail infrastructure.
Location: Brackley, UK
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the quantity surveying function for highways within a major high-speed rail construction project.
- Prepare tender pricing, risk assessments, and participate in complex contract drafting and negotiations, particularly NEC forms of contract (options A, B, and C). This may involve pre-contract work for future phases.
- Manage cost and value reconciliations, bottom-up and end-life cost reporting, and cash flow for assigned highways elements.
- Oversee contract administration for highways, ensuring meticulous data reporting and record keeping.
- Manage subcontractor accounts and payments for highways, resolving disputes as they arise.
- Provide commercial insights and contribute to project performance discussions, focusing on highways.
- Build strong relationships with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar qualification.
- Extensive experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the civil engineering or highways sector.
- In-depth knowledge and proven experience working with NEC forms of contract.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team or work stream effectively.
- Strong understanding of cost and time management principles in complex civil engineering projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for successful collaboration.
- A proactive, results-oriented approach with a keen eye for detail.
