Lead a High-Performing Team in Data Centre Construction!

About The Role

A well-established and respected civil and infrastructure company seeks a seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their international Commercial Team in Germany. You'll play a key leadership role, managing a team, maximizing project margins, and fostering strong client relationships.

Location: Germany (with travel throughout Europe on occasion)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistant QS professionals, helping them achieve performance goals.
  • Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with clients.
  • Manage high-volume, high-value variations within the Change Account.
  • Analyze and price Extension of Time (EOT) and Delay & Disruption claims.
  • Review and process applications for payment, ensuring maximum cash flow.
  • Implement strategies to improve project margins from tender handover onwards.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and mitigate potential project risks.
  • Expand the company's supply chain within Germany.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and advise on suitability.
  • Oversee subcontractor management.
  • Prepare Contractual Variation Reports (CVR) for directors and the board.
  • Track progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) for both projects and the broader business division.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of commercial experience in construction, preferably within the Data Centre sector.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Experience working with FIDIC or VOB forms of contract.
  • Background in civil engineering contracting or subcontracting.
  • Strong understanding of the Data Centre market and Design & Build project delivery.

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team to achieve KPIs.
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Honesty, integrity, and reliability.
  • Bilingualism (specific language based on the country of application).
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel for European projects.
