Principal Duties & Key Responsibilities;

The role will be predominantly technical, and the individual will be expected to have a good foundation in the following:

Must have experience in railways/metro rail project experience.

To produce signalling designs whilst working on a variety of Signalling systems as required by the project demands

Provide functional support and guidance as a Design Team Leader to the Assistant Design Engineer(s) and Design Engineer(s) within the team on all aspects of Signalling Design

Assist with the training and development of the Signalling Design Team

Preparation of technical details, specifications and tenders associated with Signalling projects

Ensure technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of Signalling system work

Discharge safety responsibilities in relation to CDM Regulations, Health and Safety legislation, company procedures and standards

Develop and optimise signalling and control system designs and estimate scope of works

Review and verify client provided designs including bill of quantities and standards

Develop designs and scope from feasibility studies to as-built drawings

Develop signalling and control system design and philosophies

Prepare specifications, drawings and datasheets to define the scope of work

Undertake Test and Completion activities with suppliers and Client

Attend sites and carry out inspections, identifying issues and proposing solutions

Other related ad-hoc activities and deliverables as required


Qualifications:

BE/B-Tech degree with 4-8 years of rail signal design experience

Understanding of relevant industry standards

Good teamwork and communication skills

Experience managing subcontractor design work

Proactive self-starter
