TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Structural Material Controller role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain material control plans aligned with project schedules and construction sequencing
- Manage structural material quantities, including take-offs, validation, and change tracking across project phases
- Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams on material requisitions, specifications, and delivery timelines
- Track material status (required, ordered, received) and maintain accurate reporting and forecasting
- Identify risks such as shortages or discrepancies and support mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with construction, warehouse, and fabrication teams to ensure material readiness and availability
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Civil/Structural Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in structural materials coordination, quantity tracking, or construction project support
- Experience performing or validating material take-offs (e.g., steel, concrete, rebar)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working with large datasets or reports
- Ability to interpret structural drawings and material specifications
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting infrastructure, industrial, or heavy construction projects
- Familiarity with material tracking systems or ERP tools
- Understanding of fabrication processes, piece tracking, or structural workflows
- Experience with forecasting, reporting, or quantity reconciliation
- Exposure to 3D modeling or coordination tools (e.g., Navisworks or similar)
