Duties
The lab technician will work with the High Heat Process Technology team to carry out laboratory scale chemical reactions, support process scale-up trials at the kilo and pilot scale, analyze process and product samples by various analytical chemistry techniques, and critically interpret data collected.
Position responsibilities include:
- Chemistry calculations.
- Operation of analytical instrumentation including HPLC, GPC, UV-Vis, GC, and titration in support of lab and piloting experiments.
- Support Process chemistry efforts in the Process Technology Group, primarily by performing lab-based experiments for SABIC projects and analysis of materials obtained from lab/pilot plants/manufacturing.
- Development and validation of new methods in support of technical deliverables; Providing testing support for scale up of new chemicals and process improvements in the commercial plant.
- Prepare calibration standards and routine calibration of analytical methods. Troubleshoot instrumentation issues.
- Coordinate wet lab safety and housekeeping. Maintain lab PPE supplies.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and communicate results to other team members.
- Must have Chemistry BS or related major or equivalent
- Excellent written and oral communication, organization, interaction skills, highly motivated, self-starter
- Basic knowledge of analytical chemistry with practical hands-on laboratory experience.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities/tasks and deliver on objectives
- Previous industrial experience is a plus.

- Ability to work autonomously with limited direction.
