Wind Turbine Load and CFD engineer

We are looking for a research engineer (Wind Turbine Load and CFD Engineer) based in NL for the following missions:

1 - Run unsteady 3D full span CFD with CFX CFD tool to investigate potential risks of vibrations in stand-still and installation configuration
- Comparisons and benchmark validation with more advanced CFD codes provided by our academic partners DTU
o Run specific numerical, transition and mesh dependency robustness sensitivity studies
o Cross check VIV and SIV results where the damping model is artificially applied in our DLCs and challenge BHawC load results (extract in attached list)
- Run computations and compare to internal test data including environmental condition impact (shear, veer, TI)
- Compare CFD results with engineering methods

2 - Wake modeling
- Support the benchmark of various wake modeling internal engineering tools (AEP and loads) through Advanced Actuator Line models fully coupled with our aeroelastic tools
- Developments of improvements on advanced wake modeling tools in partnership with our partner
o Continued developments: integration of tower and nacelle wakes and impact, refinement of turbulent inflows etc

Requested:
- MSc or PhD in fluid mechanics with focus on CFD, unsteady aerodynamics and wake models
- Strong CFX or LES – Actuator Line experience including potential mesh experience in ICEM, ANSYS and Pointwise or other similar tools
- Fluent in coding in Matlab and CFX pre and post processing
- Excellent command of the English language
- Already eligible to work in The Netherlands.
