It’s no secret that finding the right job can be like finding a needle in a haystack, but what can you do to increase your own chances of being offered your dream job?

In order to make yourself stand out as a serious contender we’ve comprised our 3 favourite tips that our recruiters look for in a candidates CV.

1. Well Organized
Your CV should present the information a hiring manager needs to know in a logical order with a clean, attractive layout that’s logical to read and easy to take in. Suppress the need to be flamboyant and eye catching in your language and keep your points simple and clear. We suggest placing your summary of qualifications at the top, followed by a reverse-chronological listing of past employment, then education. This allows the reader to quickly absorb key information, allowing your talent to shine.

2.Error-Free
Your CV is not just a list of your qualifications; it’s also assumed to be an example of your best, most careful work. Be consistent with your spacing, text size and font. Double check your spelling and make sure you’re using the correct grammar and punctuation – any small errors can show that you’re not that attentive to detail. Eliminate all imperfections from your CV, first impressions count so make sure you don’t allow a small error to stand between you and your dream career.

3.Tailored to the Job

We don’t mean create a new CV for every application, but again, first impressions last and a tailored CV show’s you care about the role you’re applying for. Tailor your summary of qualifications so the most relevant information is first and edit your terminology to a similar manner that the company use online and in their job description. Small details like this show that you share a like-mindedness with the company as well as a strong want to succeed and impress.
