- Continuous Improvement Leadership: Driving operational excellence using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen. They analyse production data to identify recurring defects and implement root-cause analysis (RCA) to eliminate them permanently.
- Supplier Quality Management: Collaborating with the procurement team to ensure that raw materials and components meet strict quality specifications. This involves auditing supplier facilities and managing "Goods-In" inspections.
- Customer Feedback and Complaint Resolution: Investigating customer complaints or product failures. The Quality Manager ensures that issues are resolved swiftly and that technical insights are fed back into the design process to prevent a recurrence.
- Testing and Inspection Protocols: Establishing the standards for laboratory testing, metrology, and manual inspections. They ensure that all measurement equipment is calibrated and that staff are trained to use it accurately.
