Field Project Engineer – Data Center

Why You’ll Love This Opportunity

Join a rapidly growing data center program that’s shaping the future of large‑scale infrastructure in Texas. You’ll play a critical role in the field—owning execution, driving technical clarity, and supporting ground‑up construction for two brand-new buildings. This is an ideal opportunity for experienced field engineers who want to be empowered, visible, and hands-on at a high‑impact site. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, can confidently command a room, and want to help deliver a major facility from the ground up, this role is for you.

Position Overview

We are seeking two Field Project Engineers to support civil/structural/architectural (CSA) or MEP scopes on a major data center construction project. This role is field‑focused, execution‑driven, and ideal for individuals who bring strong technical acumen, problem-solving initiative, and the ability to influence work in the field without direct supervisory responsibility.

You’ll support superintendents, drive design clarity, manage field changes, and help push quality and turnover readiness across your assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities

Field Execution & Coordination

  • Own field execution support for assigned scopes (CSA or MEP).
  • Track installation progress and align work with weekly plans.
  • Coordinate daily with superintendents to keep field execution on track.

RFIs, Submittals & Design Clarifications

  • Identify design gaps early and package clear RFIs or submittals.
  • Drive questions to closure and ensure resolutions are implemented in the field.

Change Management

  • Support documentation and communication of field changes.
  • Communicate schedule and cost impacts to project leadership.

Quality Control & Turnover Readiness

  • Walk work‑in‑place to verify compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Track deficiencies and drive punch list completion.
  • Prep turnover documentation and support commissioning activities.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily logs, photo documentation, and issue trackers.
  • Provide concise weekly updates to leadership.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of construction or field engineering experience (no new grads).
  • Experience with large industrial, commercial, or mission‑critical construction.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Strong communication skills—confident, steady, and professional in the field.
  • Ability to influence and “manage” work without direct supervisory authority.

Preferred

  • Data center project experience.
  • CSA background is ideal, but MEP candidates also considered.
  • Engineering or construction‑related degree (open to no degree with strong experience).

Role Details

  • Location: Data center project in Central Texas
  • Contract Length: 1 year
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday; occasional Saturdays as needed
