Summary:

• Client is currently seeking an experienced 3D Laser Scanning Technician/CAD Draftsperson to support their diverse (Piping, Structural & Buildings) clients. The Technician/Engineer will be required to perform 3D scanning and CAD modelling.
  

Responsibilities:

• Perform 3D scanning using FARO/Leica/Z+F scanners

• Post processing (Registration) of the 3D laser scan data

• Perform point cloud analysis

• As-built modelling & modifications (3D & 2D drawings)

• Piping & Isometrics

• Structural (e.g. silos, conveyors etc.)

• Buildings

• Field visits including mobilizing and demobilizing the laser scan equipment

• Review and evaluate request from clients

• Lead meetings on product development status

• Point of contact and have responsibility for the activities, developments and issues concerning 3D scanning

• Limited communication and interaction with our clients

• Coordinating laser scanning tasks within a project

• Assist in proposal preparation efforts

• This position has field related responsibilities

Requirements:

• National Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Preferred Minimum 5 years’ experience in 3D Laser Scanning, post processing, analysis and modeling
  5 year’s experience in CAD and generating 2D/3D technical drawings

• OSHA training is desirable

• Comprehensive knowledge of laser scan equipment and its operations. Familiarity with Faro and Leica laser scan equipment and software; Preferred Software experience: Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Faro scene, cyclone
  Exceptional attention to detail, with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  Ability to perform physical labor, lift/carry of 20 lbs. or more, and working from a prone or kneeling position.

• Understanding of BIM, building architecture and structures will be an advantage; Salary will be competitive based on experience and suitability to job role

• You will normally work a 40 hour per week, normally 07:00 - 16:00. (30 mins Lunch & 2x 15 mins breaks)

• However, some flexibility is required to meet business needs
