Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate.
- Supervise the monthly general ledger close process, ensuring accurate and timely posting of transactions in compliance with IFRS, loan agreements, and Client’s accounting policies.
- Review complex journal entries, accruals, and provisions.
- Review journals, account reconciliations, and variance analysis for quality and compliance.
- Consolidate financial results across business units and prepare group-level reports.
- Ensure timely resolution of accounting issues and clearing of open items.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation of statutory accounts for assigned legal entities.

Qualification and Skills Requirements:
- Qualified CA (SA) will be advantageous with postgraduate tax qualification advantageous or BCom (Honors) degree in Accounting/Taxation with postgraduate tax qualification University degree or Chartered tax advisor.
- International & Corporate Tax experience within Big Four / large tax accounting firms (6 to 10 years) or 8 years being tax manager in a large company (energy, oil & gas sector preferred.
- Experience of handling tax audits.
- Experience of accounting (IFRS), treasury and company law issues affecting transactions (requires a broad understanding of these areas rather than in-depth knowledge).
- Must have a high degree of skill in Business Computing Applications such as Word Processors, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint Enterprise Resource Planning applications (Maximo/SAP or equivalent).
- Comprehensive knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Fluent in English.
