Accountant III
We currently seek a high caliber Accountant III for a long-term basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals. Based in Carlsbad, CA

Job Duties:
• Conduct all project activities in a manner that highly prioritizes safety, environment, community, quality, and client’s ethic mandates, policies and procedures.
• Deliver all assigned job duties in terms of cost, schedule, technical conformance, quality and in an accord with the contractual obligations of our client.
• Responsibility for all project business services (PBS), project accounting and cost reporting.
• Employ good accounting practices within the project in accordance with best business practices and the Project Management Plan and all its Sub Plans.
• Notify the Project Manager without a delay all difficulties in complying with the above requirements.
• Ensure communication regarding project accounting remains fast, effective and per the Project Communication Plan.
• Assist with gathering and coordination of all information and reports required from accounting for the project management team and required project reporting.
• Set-up and maintain the project accounting system.
• Turn the “PO” Estimate into appropriate cost codes and budgets.
• File all project accounting documentation and correspondence.
• Manage the closeout of all project accounting files and archive appropriately.
• Assist with internal and external project audits.
• Ensure compliance to internal controls over financial reporting are in place and are effective for clien’t’s business.
• Day to day execution of assigned project management functions with the objective to manage the project scope, schedule, cost, and quality to a successful completion.
• Successful execution of Security, Safety, Health and Environment Management Plans as they relate to project accounting functions.
• Record, file and distribute minutes as required from all project accounting meetings.
• Generate and maintain approved project accounting forms, procedures and work instructions.
• Gather and submit all accounting information needed to update; project accounting system, client’s accounting system and the master project schedule.
• Compile and submit all project accounting reporting required by contract and internal project controls and project reporting, both external and internal.
• Gather and submit all project accounting documents required for client invoicing, change orders, etc.
• Enter the client invoices into SAP.
• Monitor and report status of the client payment process.
• Load and maintain the project’s cost forecast data into the SAP Project Margin Analysis Reporting (PMAR) module.
• Verify issued purchase orders are within their respective budgets in the “PO” Estimate. Report overruns to the project manager for authorization.
• Verify that all change order payments are approved by the project manager prior to releasing them.
• Verify accuracy of AP invoices against issued purchase orders and received shipping documents / packing lists.
• Approve and pay AP invoices in SAP after a) verification of material receipts and b) management approval of invoices.
• Work closely with Procurement and the New Delhi AP team to ensure that the AP process runs smoothly and is effective for client’s business.
• Timely notifications to the project manager of any budget-overrun trends.
• Maintain an awareness of what other project team members are doing and proactively advise of any coordination or accounting issues.
• Assist with planning and participation in a post-project lessons learned session(s).
• Provide feedback to business development (estimating) about cost trends and lessons learned.
• Create Price to Win (PTW) Revenue Models as required.

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Accredited four (4) year degree in Math, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or global equivalent in applicable field of study and four (4) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to seven (7) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
OTHR JOB REQUIREMENTS:
•Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent people skills and with ability to work in large teams across various cultures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work in the fast-paced work environments of D/S and EPC projects.
• Ability to adjust and react quickly to implement approved changes in the project.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• experience in project accounting roles of increasing responsibility
• 2 years in the mining industry desirable
• Experience in Design/Supply and/or EPC mining projects is desirable.
• International project experience is highly desirable.
• SAP system user is highly desirable.
