Air Separation Specialist

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Process Design Engineer with expertise in Air Separation Units (ASU) to join our engineering team on an 8-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and optimising air separation processes to support hydrogen production and integration with downstream systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop process design packages for air separation units, including PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Perform process simulations and calculations for cryogenic air separation systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, control) to integrate ASU with hydrogen production facilities.
• Support HAZOP reviews, risk assessments, and operability studies.
• Provide technical input during procurement and vendor selection.
• Assist in commissioning and troubleshooting during project execution.

Requirements:

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience in air separation process design (cryogenic systems preferred).
• Familiarity with UK/EU engineering standards and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and deliver within tight timelines.
