Assembly Quality Engineer

Job Title: Contract Assembly Quality Engineer
Department: Assembly
Location: Anderson, SC 29625
Contract Duration: 3 month contract-to-possible-hire
Rate: $40-45/hour depending on experience
Industry: automotive parts manufacturing, plastics, assembly

Main Activities:
· Coordinate & Supervise Quality Technician’s activities & daily testing
· Secondary customer interface for quality issues
· Support Engineering on new projects
· Participate with Engineering in design changes
· Project leader to reduce and remove chronic Quality issues/PPM reduction
· Monitor, improve, & update FMEAs and control plan
· Conduct Disciplinary procedures with quality operators
· Develop & support quality strategy for assembly operations
· Drive PPM to improvement actions
· Drive overall customer quality to target levels
· Control Plan Training
Requirements:
Must have 4+ years tier I automotive plastic injection molded products assembly quality engineering experience
Must have strong background in managing/creating APQP deliverables, PPAP submissions, FMEAs, control plans, 8Ds, 5 Whys
Associate degree in a business, technical, or related field or efforts to obtain a ASQ certification must be maintained
Good working knowledge of quality tools and concepts
Excellent communication skills
Excellent writing skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Good organizational skills
Self-motivated
Able to coordinate more than one project at a time
Knowledge of ISO, QS9000, and IATF 16949 v2
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Able to interact with all levels of the organization
Automotive Assembly experience
Experience with assembly approval procedures requirements with OEM’s
Supervisory experience
Problem Resolution techniques/methods
